What to Expect and How to Prep

To Prepare: For all waxing, hair must be at least a 1/4 inch long (or about the length of a grain of rice) but no longer than a 1/2 inch (especially for Brazilian and bikini waxes!) The longer the hair, the less efficiently the wax will be able to adhere to every individual hair making it overall more painful for you. I will trim hair if needed for Brazilians and bikini waxes but be aware that this will cut into the waxing time (pun fully intended). For eyebrow, upper lip and chin hair, the best length usually takes about 2-4 weeks of growth to reach. Please do not wear makeup to your appointment when possible and do not apply any moisturizers or oils prior. If needed, I will remove makeup before waxing. For lower body waxing, do not apply any moisturizers or oils within 8 hours of your appointment. 

During: Waxing can be done with either soft wax or hard wax depending on skin and hair type. When using hard wax it is left to dry alone on the body before removing the whole strip of wax itself. This type of wax only adheres to body hair and not the skin making it less painful for some. Soft wax is great for fine hairs and larger areas of the body. This wax is laid on the body then covered by a strip of material that is pulled to remove both the hair and wax. This wax adheres to the hair and the skin so it may not be the best option for someone with sensitive skin but it can be exactly what others need! (Don’t worry though, we’ll decide what wax will be best together!)
